11/1/17 – VIRGINIA – Fredericksburg City Public Schools (FCPS) announced they have enlisted Noodle Markets’ procurement tools to issue competitive solicitations, manage contracts, and streamline vendor communication.
FCPS has already loaded their approved vendor lists into the Noodle Markets platform, where their five schools are now able to “shop” their district marketplace. District and school users will expand searches and invited bidders, as appropriate, to Noodle Markets’ growing database of thousands of national and local K12 vendors for purchases large and small.
“Noodle Markets is a procurement and communication system built within our K-12 world,” says David Baker, Chief Financial Officer of Fredericksburg City Public Schools. “It is written for us and oriented in a way that makes sense for K-12. When was the last time you used a business system for K-12 that was designed for how you work, not set up for general business or other government? Your K-12 mission, vision, and goals all point towards transparency and accountability, directly or indirectly. To that end, Noodle Markets can provide a responsible and responsive approach to K-12 procurement of goods and services.”
FCPS notes that compliance is an important part of the decision to work with Noodle Markets. The platform allows for workflow automations around purchasing thresholds to ensure district and school users adhere to best practices around vendor correspondence and record-keeping. “Noodle Markets quickly and seamlessly provides competitive quotes for large and small purchases, and allows for immediate and global vendor pricing transparency,” says Baker.
“We want to thank FCPS for their trust in us and their commitment to innovation,” said John Katzman, Noodle Companies’ CEO. “Our mission is to help districts get the right products and services at great prices and with great efficiency–all while following the letter of the law. Further, we think the increased control and transparency will allow them to give schools more authority.”
Noodle Markets launched its suite of procurement tools in 2016, and already hosts thousands of vendor profiles, ranging from curriculum tools to construction companies. This year, it was nominated as “Best Emerging Technology” by the Software Information Industry Association.
